Today, we are getting to know the hands, head, and heart behind Trent Sherrill, a professional, internationally published photographer located in Deputy, Indiana, where he lives with his wife, Kayla. Trent is the owner, chief editor, and photographer of Speed & Kulture Chronicles, formerly known as Speed & Kulture Magazine. He’s become a prominent photographer in the automotive industry with his signature style of photography that captures classy women in period correct clothing next to iconic and custom machines. From cars to motorcycles, Trent’s photography has taken him all over the world, including Italy and Australia, documenting and immortalizing what he believes is Americana culture at its’ finest.
In this Curated Craftsman Conversation, we talk about:
- Trent’s unique photography style, where his goal is to capture a “blue print” for historic preservation and a “piece of art” all within the same shot
- Finding a purpose in something or someone other than yourself or your craft
- The difficulties of asking for money in return for your talents
- How Trent has tried to combat the dying format of published print magazine with unique Instagram reels and his new coffee table book series, Speed & Kulture Chronicles
- Getting past imposter syndrome so that you can actually enjoy and celebrate the wins
- Trent’s journey as the selected curator for the Andy Southard Photography Archives
- Creating unity in our country through seeking and finding value in all human beings and their stories
