“Women Shifting Gears Driven by Hemmings” is a weekly podcast that puts inspiring women from all corners of the automotive world in the left seat. Fasten your seatbelt as host Amanda Busick moves her guests into the fast lane to explore their career insights, mentors and influencers, and where they see the future of cars. Most importantly, “Women Shifting Gears Driven by Hemmings” celebrates and collects stories about women’s contributions to the history of cars.
In this conversation, Amanda and I chat about how my high school art teacher had a massive impact into my career as a full time artist. I share a funny story about my 1966 Jeepster and how we broke down in the middle of the dessert with a bent pushed rod that we fixed “roadkill style” to limp back home. As the conversation continues, we chat about running a business in art and what it’s like working as a commission artist with different client ideas. Lastly, Amanda and I get the chance to dive deep into the details and inspirations behind my newest art series, “She’s Been Everywhere, Man!”.
I was so honored to be an invited featured guest on a podcast of this caliber. Their line up of interviews by women in the automotive industry is impressive and it was a joy to be considered amongst them. I hope our conversation will inspire you and motivate you in some positive way.
A huge thanks to Hemmings, GS Events, Amanda Busick, and all of the women who put their time and talents into producing this podcast interview!
