Custom Art in Automotive Paint by Kate Cook
Renowned artist and local owner of Asphalt Canvas Custom Art studio, Kate Cook, will present her brand new collection of travel inspired paintings entitled “She’s Been Everywhere, Man!” at the Lone Star Round Up, April 22-23 in the outdoor vending arena located at the Travis County Expo Center, 7311 Decker Ln. Austin, Texas, 78724.
The art exhibition entitled “She’s Been Everywhere, Man!” will showcase ten large illustrative canvas paintings in vibrant automotive enamel paints. These colorful works originally inspired by the song, “I’ve Been Everywhere”, famously sung by Johnny Cash, depict women driving classic and custom cars to some of America’s most iconic locations including Bonneville, The Fort Worth Stockyards, Yellowstone, and more.
It is Kate’s pop culture interpretation of nostalgic inspired imagery where she has found a seamless blend of her talents in traditional pinstriping, classical art training, and intrigue for American history within this playful series.
Kate states in her “She’s Been Everywhere, Man!” blog, “I have fervently created this timeless collection of art to earmark and preserve the beautiful places and things that I believe have established our country’s unique identity in the world that is altogether defined in one word: Americana.”
