Payment

Each custom artwork I create is uniquely crafted to reflect your vision, with pricing based on linear inch size, subject complexity, and the quality of reference material. Additional costs may include framing, shipping, travel, and tax. For more details or to submit an inquiry, visit my Commission Request page.

To book a project, I require a 30% non-refundable deposit. This secures your spot, serves as a contract agreement to all terms outlined on the ACCA website, and covers materials and initial sketches. The remaining balance is due in full before delivery.

I accept most major credit cards through Square or PayPal and will email a payable invoice upon booking or accepting an estimate. I also accept cash and checks. Venmo, CashApp, and money orders are not accepted.

Commission Process

An original artwork is a one-of-a-kind piece created solely by me, available for purchase. Some originals may be reproduced as prints by Asphalt Canvas Studio.

A custom artwork is also unique but created on commission, inspired by your vision. These pieces cannot be reproduced unless authorized by you.

I can accommodate most deadlines without compromising quality. However, to allow for revisions, drying time, shipping, and framing, it's best to schedule your project at least eight weeks in advance.

I work from digital images, text, emailed photos, and physical photographs. High-quality images are best, especially for car and human portraits. If a clear reference isn’t provided, an additional fee may apply.

I’m available to discuss your custom art ideas in person, by phone, FaceTime, text, or email. You can also reach me via Facebook at facebook.com/v8kate or on Instagram @asphaltcanvasart. My hours are Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM, with weekend appointments available upon request.

Yes! Clients are involved throughout the entire design process, guided by my signature ärta' mö-tive™ Method. I provide regular updates through photos and videos and shares progress on social media unless requested otherwise. A final photo and video of the completed artwork will be sent before delivery.

While framing is an optional add-on service, I highly recommends professional framing to enhance and protect your custom artwork. Upon request, I can provide a custom made, archival-quality frame for an additional investment.

Shipping

No, shipping costs—including insurance and packing materials—are not included in the initial estimate or invoice unless specifically stated otherwise.

If your artwork arrives damaged, you have two options:

1. Replacement: A new piece will be created at no additional cost, with an artist-determined completion date based on current booking calendar.

2. Partial Refund: Receive a 30% refund of the total artwork cost, excluding the non-refundable deposit and any non-refundable revisions and/or frame.

Longevity & Ownership

Flat Artwork (Drawings, Paintings): To protect against fading and tearing, I recommend professional framing with anti-fade glass, archival tape, and backing materials. For best results, hang artwork away from direct sunlight. While I offer high-quality custom framing, it does not come with a lifetime guarantee. I am not responsible for any damage after the artwork is delivered to the client.

Outdoor Artwork (Signage, Motorcycle/Automotive Pinstriping): I use premium paints and tools for long-lasting results, but cannot guarantee the longevity of outdoor artwork. To protect it, avoid direct sunlight, rain, wind, and snow. If possible, store the painted item indoors when not in use. For cleaning, use a soft rag and water—never mechanical car washes, brushes, or power washers.

I am not responsible for damage to outdoor artwork after delivery.

All copyright and reproduction rights are reserved by me as the artist, Kate Cook, except for logos, t-shirt designs, and book illustrations, where ownership transfers to the client upon completion. I will maintain full ownership rights until final payment is received. If the client cancels the project mid-way, I retain all rights to the artwork and word marks.

Custom artwork (excluding logos, t-shirts, and book illustrations) cannot be copied or reprinted without my written approval. I may use the artwork for portfolio purposes, including social media, magazine, or website publication.

For client reproduction of custom artwork into prints or stickers, I require written approval from the client.

My goal is to create the perfect custom artwork for you. However, if you are unhappy with the final piece after the included 3 revisions and any additional non-refundable revision hours, I will offer a 30% refund on the remaining balance (after the non-refundable deposit). This refund excludes any additional non-refundable revision hours beyond the initial revisions.
