How to use these Pinstriping Practice Grid Sheets:

1. Print out the grid sheet and use the marked centerline and grid squares to practice creating balanced and unique designs with a pencil or colored markers.

2. Print out the grid sheet and place it behind a piece glass or see-through paper. Using the marked centerline and grid squares, practice painting a balanced pinstriping design from start to finish without a using pre-designed pencil sketch. This is called “freehand pinstriping”.

3. Place a piece of Saral Paper between the printed grid sheet and your canvas (i.e. canvas, metal, wood, plastic). With the chalk side of the Saral paper against your canvas, use a pencil to lightly trace over the grid lines. This will transfer evenly spaced grid lines to your final canvas in chalk that you can easily paint over with a freehand design. The chalk grid lines will erase with water once the painted design is dry.

4. Utilizing the same process as above, using Saral paper, you can also transfer a previously drawn pencil design that you created on your grid sheet to your desired canvas and paint directly over your chalk lines to ensure a balanced and well thought out design.
